Dr. Farzad Jafarkazemi is an assistant professor at South Tehran Branch of Islamic Azad University (IAU), Iran. Farzad received his Ph. D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Science and Research Branch of Islamic Azad University. He has a 10-year career in solar energy applications. As a faculty member of Mechanical Engineering at IAU, he performed research in refrigeration, solar heating and cooling systems, energy efficiency, and process instrumentation and taught undergraduate and graduate courses in the same subjects. He also runs vocational training courses on solar energy application. Farzad has worked as the vice chairman of Iranian Society of Instrument and Control Engineers from 2006 to 2009. He has also worked as the chairman of ISO TC86 on refrigeration and air conditioning in Iran on 2008. He was also the scientific chairman of the 7th International Conference on Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning which was held on Tehran at May 2016.He is now the chairman of ISO TC301(Energy management and energy savings) in Iran. Dr. Jafarkazemi is the author of more than 60 conference and journal papers, two books, one multimedia book and 3 patents on solar desalination. He is also managing director at Mehrtab Energy Co. Ltd., a company devoted to awareness rising in solar energy application. A recent very noticeable work by Dr. Jafarkazemi is development of the first solar collector and solar water heater test lab in Iran. The lab is completely designed and developed locally under his supervision according to ISO 9806 standard for solar collectors and ISO 9459-2 and ISO9459-5 standards for solar water heaters. It is recently accredited by the Iranian Standards Organization, and is the first accredited test lab for solar thermal systems in Iran.
